Virtu.Pet Rules

The following guidelines are not a legal document, and final interpretation is up to the administration of Virtu.Pet; they are here to provide you with an insight into our content moderation policies:

On-site Behavior

You must be over 18 to use this website. Creating an account on Virtu.Pet is an implicit agreement that you are over 18 years of age.

Automated tools to use the site are NOT allowed. Cheating on Virtu.Pet's games, using external programs, or other people's software or scripts to play a feature of the site may result in account suspension or a termination depending on the severity of the action. This includes programs designed to buy items from shops, refresh for random events, automatically play games, or any other excessive unfair advantage.
Aside: Quality of life userscripts (such as adding hotlinks to your favourite shops, or a restock timer) are allowed, but anything that automates a function on the site is explicitly disallowed.

Hacking and/or sending modified data to the server is NOT allowed. Attempting to gain access to someone else's account and / or account information, phishing, malicious XSS scripts, score sending, or any other attempt to send modified data to the server is forbidden. Users found to have attempted to breach another user's account or sent malicious or intentionally altered data will have their account be deleted and be permanently banned from the site, and blacklisted from Virtu.Pet, affiliated websites and Discords.

Side accounts are not allowed. Anyone found to be in possession of unapproved multiple accounts will have all of their accounts frozen and unfairly acquired items and Neopoints removed. All new accounts must be approved by the admin.

Real world trading is not allowed. Trading Virtu.Pet currency for other site's currency (or real world currency) is not allowed. This includes trading for items or Neopoints from Neopets.com. This point extends to advertising commissions or adoptables for real world currency on-site, these are also not allowed.
Aside: Users may commission one another for artwork or writing using on-site currency

Scamming is not allowed. Users that trick others into giving them items / Neopoints without them realising or under the impression they will be returned will be banned from the site. This includes using HTML/CSS or scripts to fool other users into buying items for different prices, or covering up the actual stats / colour of their pets.
Aside: While not considered explicitly scamming, CSS Overlays must not use a different Neopet colour to cover up a current Neopet. (ie, you cannot overlay a Blue Kacheek with an image of a Royal Kacheek). Artistic liberties of Neopets is allowed, and case by case bases will be handled privately.

Explicit or "dirty" pet names are not allowed. While all users on this site are adults, we prefer to have a welcoming atmosphere for everyone, and crass names for pets are frowned upon. Pets with unacceptable names will be changed and users will be warned. If the behavior is repeated, or filters are bypassed, it may be grounds for account termination.

Below are the more Serious sections of rules related to any content users can post on Virtu.Pet.

User Generated Content (User Lookups, Pet Lookups, Pet Homepages, et cetera)

The following types of content will be removed from the site and users will be served with a warning:

  • Excessive advertising (linking to social media is permitted)
  • Artistic depictions of nudity, pornography and sexually explicit content
  • Artistic depictions of gore and extremely graphic violence

The following types of content are explicitly disallowed and will result in immediate revocation of access to any Virtu.Pet related Discord, and termination of the Virtu.Pet account:

  • Racism or advocation of racism
  • Sexism or advocation of sexism
  • Discrimination against gender and sexual minorities, or advocation thereof
  • Spreading disinformation or conspiracy theories that undermine public health
  • Sexual depictions of children
  • Xenophobic and/or violent nationalism
  • Conduct promoting the ideology of National Socialism
  • Photographic or photorealistic depictions of nudity, pornography and sexually explicit content
  • Photographic or photorealistic depictions of gore and extremely graphic violence

Any conduct intended to stalk or harass other users, or to impede other users from utilizing Virtu.Pet, or to degrade the performance of Virtu.Pet, or to harass other users, or to incite other users to perform any of the aforementioned actions, is also disallowed, and subject to punishment up to and including revocation of access to Virtu.Pet. This includes, but is not limited to, the following behaviors:

  • Continuing to engage in conversation with a user that has specifically has requested for said engagement with that user to cease and desist may be considered harassment, regardless of platform-specific privacy tools employed.
  • Aggregating, posting, and/or disseminating a person's demographic, personal, or private data without express permission (informally called doxxing or dropping dox) may be considered harassment.
  • Inciting users to engage another user in continued interaction or discussion after a user has requested for said engagement with that user to cease and desist (informally called brigading or dogpiling) may be considered harassment.

These provisions notwithstanding, the administration of Virtu.Pet reserves the right to revoke any user's access permissions, at any time, for any reason.

By signing up for an account, you are agreeing to the rules set forth on this page. You acknowledge your access to Virtu.Pet may be revoked at any time if you are in violation of the rules set forth on this page.
